Technical Member, Paul Jenner and Marketing Member, Costa Gogos founded Baketek as a close corporation in May 1991. Initially, Baketek only reconditioned, repaired and maintained bakery equipment but as the company grew larger and more successful they began manufacturing their own range of equipment under the, now well-established, name Baketek.

Baketek's Head office and factory is situated in Johannesburg, South Africa with branches in Nelspruit, Bloemfontein and Durban.

In June of 1998, Member and factory Manager Davor Dzijan joined Baketek. With Davor's qualifications and expertise together with his vast experience was responsible for the redesigning and modification of what is now one of the baking industry finest range of bakery equipment.

Over the past eleven years, Baketek has been responsible for supplying over 135 "Debonaires" and over 25 "Scooters" pizza franchises with dough mixers. Baketek have also supplied complete in-store bakeries to over 100 "Kwik Spars", "Spars" and "Super Spars throughout Africa.

One of Baketeks' more recent achievements was supplying 'Gateway Super Spar" what is now the biggest Spar in the Southern Hemisphere. "Gateway Super Spar", a corporate owned store in Durban's 'Gateway" shopping centre.

Baketek is the only company in South Africa who manufacture a biscuit wire cutter, a heavy duty machine capable of cutting up to seven biscuits per second.

Apart from the BT 450 Biscuit Machine, Baketek are the only manufactures in Africa of the thirty piece Bun Divider.

Baketek continues to strive for excellence in both their product range and service.
